Species 2c. C. riparius group

Larva a small to medium thummi-type with ventral tubules about 1 mm long, about equal length or posterior pair longer.    Gular region and frontoclypeus pale or slightly darkened.    Mentum with generally sharp teeth;    centre tooth narrow, almost as long as first laterals, side teeth well formed and separated.

Cytology:    4 pairs of chromosomes with the pseudothummi arm combination AE, BF, CD, G.    Chromosomes relatively short and often with sections unpaired.
Arm G generally unpaired or may be paired at the subterminal nucleolus and nearby Balbiani ring; but occasionally fully paired as in figure.    Arm often constricted between the nucleolus and BR.    No nucleoli in the long chromosomes.
