Larva of salinarius type, or semi-halophilus type in Georgia specimens. Gula darkened on posterior part, frontoclypeus pale. Antennal segment 1 relatively long, L1/L2 about 4.3.
Cytology: 3 pairs of chromosomes with a
modified thummi arm combination AB, CD, GEF.
Centromeres
heterochromatic, particularly AB, and CD which have a large
vacuolated region. Nucleolus
in arm A and a bulb with distal dark bands near end of arm B.
Two Balbiani rings in arm G region and possibly another
proximal in arm B.
maj A1: 1 - 2c, 10 - 12, 3 - 2d, 9 - 4, 13 - 19;
i.e.
as in holomelas, cucini & tardus.
maj B1: Puff or BR proximal, near the 4 characteristic
bands of this arm
maj E1: 13a - 10c, 3f - 4, 10b - 5, 3e - 1, 13b - g
maj F1: 1 - 10, 17 - 11, 18 - 23;
i.e.
as in cucini, tardus
& tenuistylus.
