Species 3r . C. species WOC of Wülker & Morath (1989)

Larva a small to medium plumosus-type.    Gular region darkened on posterior third, frontoclypeus pale.    Ventral tubules relatively long and posterior pair coiled.    Mentum with c2 teeth of central trifid tooth well separated (type II), lateral teeth about evenly spaced, with reduced fourth lateral(type II-III).

Cytology:    4 pairs of moderately long chromosomes with pseudothummi arm combination: AE, BF, CD, G.    Shows affinities to C. anonymus (species2o), C. calligraphus (species 2w) and to a group of South American species.
Arm G short, with a terminal nucleolus.    No nucleolus in the long chromosomes.    No polymorphism known in the small sample of specimens.

Arm E:    1-10b, 12b-10c, 12c-13
Arm F:    1a-6b, 19d-18a, 11f-14h, 17d-15a, 11e 6c, 20a-23f        i.e. as in sp. 2w.

Found: Florida - Winter Haven;
          Louisiana - Many, Sabine Co.
          Tennessee - White Oak Creek, Knox Co.

          Creeks and pools in the southeastern USA.
