Species h. Similar to C. decumbens but may be new species

Larva of the plumosus type, medium to large size (about 16 mm).    Anterior pair of ventral tubules usually longer.    Gular region only slightly darkened on posterior third, frontoclypeus pale or slightly darkened.    Mentum with pointed teeth; centre tooth broad, possibly with a flanged edge, side teeth moderately seperated but tend to continue edge line of centre tooth.

Cytology: 4 pairs of relatively short chromosomes with the thummi arm combination AB, CD, EF, G.    Centromeres markedly heterochromatic.
Arm G very short, bands indistinct and normally only paired at the almost terminal nucleolus.    Nucleoli also in arms B, C, D (2 or multiple nucleoli) and F.

Arm A1:    1a-e, 2d-3i, 12c-10a, 2c-1f, 9e-4a, 13a-19f(?)    possibly as atrella A1
                (could be 1-2c, 10-11? 9, 2d-3, 12, 8-4, 13-19)
Arm B1:    1-?, 20-18, ?, 9(?)-13, ?-8b, 17-14, 23-28    ie. derived from heteropilicornis
Arm E1:    1-3e, 5-10b, 4-3f, 10c-13                        ie. as aberratus
Arm F1:    1, 9-2, 13-19(?)

              Amongst deep organic litter in a highly eutrophic lake.
