The Genetics Department has strong links to the community via in-service training programs for Biology teachers, practical workshops for VCE Biology students, lectures to school students and the development of curriculum materials for the teaching of genetics. Many members of the Department belong to organisations which raise the awareness of the general public to current trends in genetics.
